START Paris Case study 2023 → 2025 Founder project

Connecting those who build, wherever they are.

START Paris was the community I founded in 2023 to bring student entrepreneurs in Paris closer to international startup ecosystems. As the local chapter of the European START network, it connected dozens of founders to flagship events — VivaTech, Slush, Asian conferences — and built its own series of meetups in Paris until early 2025.

The mission

Three things we tried to get right.

Not another student club. The idea was to make international entrepreneurship reachable for Paris students who didn't have the network or the budget to get in on their own.
01

Inspire

Bring in founders, investors and operators — and create a space where you can ask them the real questions, not the ones polished for LinkedIn.

02

Connect

Send students to the events that matter — VivaTech, Slush, Asian conferences — and open doors that university won't open for them.

03

Accelerate

Run tight programs — pitch nights, 1:1 mentor sessions, group trips — to turn a meeting into a project, then a project into a team.

Programs & meetups

What we actually ran.

A mix of presence at flagship events, Paris meetups and group trips. Not exhaustive — the most defining ones.
01 / Flagship

VivaTech delegation

Student delegation with access to the main stage, startup side-events and investor meetings. Pre-event prep, briefings, post-event follow-up.

The network

Paris, but plugged into Europe.

START is a European student network born in Switzerland. Each local chapter runs independently, but shares the same playbook and event standard.

One European student community, twenty-odd cities, one shared standard.

The journey

Two years, honestly.

No heroic narrative. Things that worked, things we had to drop, and a logical continuation that became Horyond Non Profit.
2023 · Q1

Opening the Paris chapter

Founding the org, recruiting the first core team, first partnerships with Paris schools. Public opening night to announce the mission.

2023 · Q2

First VivaTech delegation

Selecting and supporting a first cohort of students for VivaTech. Pre-event prep, investor briefings, collective debrief.

2024

Opening up to Asia

First Asian trips through the START network and personal contacts. This is when the project becomes seriously international — and when I start spending more time with operators outside Europe.

2025

Handing it over

START Paris's mission becomes the foundation of Horyond Non Profit, founded in September 2025 — same spirit, real structured program, dedicated team. START Paris remains my starting point, Horyond is its continuation.
