Team for the Planet Case study 2023 → now Climate commitment

Evaluating projects that can cool the planet.

Team for the Planet is a citizen-owned company that funds and supports startups fighting climate change through collective intelligence. I've been a volunteer evaluator since 2023 — analyzing candidate projects, taking part in the collective selection process, and relaying the mission to my network.

Role Volunteer evaluator
Since 2023
Field Climate / Deeptech
Method Collective intelligence
The context

Mission, method, impact.

A citizen-owned company gathering tens of thousands of shareholders to fund breakthrough solutions against climate change. Everything runs through a collective evaluation and selection process.
01

Mission

Fund and support breakthrough climate startups — open source when possible — to accelerate deployment and impact.

02

Method

Collective evaluation: technical feasibility, carbon impact, economic viability. Every file passes through several evaluators before final arbitration.

03

Impact

Direct contribution to innovative environmental solutions, inside an international network mobilized around one cause: cooling the planet.

The process

How we evaluate.

A clear, collective framework designed to reduce individual bias while keeping a high technical bar across very diverse topics.
01 / Étape

Feasibility analysis

Deep read of the file: tech, state of the art, scientific blockers, maturity. The goal: spot what's genuinely new — and what isn't.

Tech · State of the art
02 / Étape

Carbon impact

Estimating large-scale emission reduction potential. Order of magnitude first, precision later.

CO₂ · GtCO₂e
03 / Étape

Business model

Viability, market, ability to industrialize. A good idea that can't be funded stays a good idea undeployed.

Market · Scale
04 / Étape

Collective deliberation

Cross-checking evaluations, debate, vote. That's where collective intelligence makes the difference.

Debate · Vote
05 / Étape

Relay & advocacy

Spreading the mission across my pro and personal network — to grow the citizen shareholder base and the community.

The fields

The climate fields evaluated.

The projects analyzed cover the full set of decarbonization levers — deeptech, energy, mobility, agritech, circular economy. That diversity forces you to learn fast and well.

A community of citizen shareholders, dozens of countries, one shared goal.

Deeptech Energy Mobility Agritech Circular economy CO₂ capture Buildings Heavy industry
The journey

A long-term commitment.

Not a one-shot mission. A volunteer commitment that lasts, as the community grows and the projects analyzed get more demanding.
2023

Joining the community

First participation in the evaluation process. Discovering the methodological framework, running first analyses of climate startup files.

2024

Steady cadence

Continuous evaluation of new projects, growing competence on carbon impact analysis and impact business models. Relaying the mission inside my pro network.

2025 → 2026

Consolidated commitment

Continuing as evaluator. A deep commitment, complementary to my other projects — one of the few places where climate is genuinely discussed at scale.
